CONQUERING THE PAST
“Human memory keeps the events of the past that often hold down the future”.
Glory Oludare
The tragedy of progress is the re -occurrence of the past. Our progress and success are often held by our past failures and difficulties we once went through in the journeys of our lives because we fail to conquer them on time. As we go through life, we all face different circumstances that shape our outlook, beliefs, feelings, habits and actions. All these determine our success and failures.
Most great men and women l have read about that became famous today were made in the forest of fears and terrible past that they face in reality and it darkens their mind and held them back for several years. They overcame their taskmasters while in that slavery of their past as they come to the understanding of the truth about their inner power and how to annex it to conquer the stronghold of their taskmaster – the past that seems difficult.
Everyone is a product of their past directly or indirectly. But there is no past failure or mistake that is bigger than the person involved unless the chance to it is given. It is part of life experience to go through a particular challenge that sometimes disturbs the mind but it is another matter to knowing how to control the circumstance.
Of course, there is nothing achievable without first testing its evident processing. The real thing is known by the level of their stability during the times of pressures. Pressure is the mother of initiation of your own will, desire and choice. Most of the great heroes that we hail today had to conquer their most difficult past and fears before they could be identified as the great heroes today.
Very many of them are not known when they are going through their difficult times even though, they have the choice to give up, but they became famous when they chose to face their fears and the past that could have torn them apart and conquer it until it is no more an issue. Do you know you are in charge of your great fear and the past?
Think of Rosa Parks; she had to really face the fear and held the hand of her taskmaster – Mr. Past and she looked at him eye to eye to stop the injustice against the generation of the blacks in Atlanta Georgia.
Again, late Dr. Martin Luther king Jnr. in his youthful and ebullient vocal personality fought the scourge of the past and faced the fear right from within without considering the consequence until his last breath. Ever since, the rights and the justice of the black race took a new experience and many more to talk about.
Life is a teacher that posts before you the questions and the solutions but before you have the solution to the answers you must acknowledge the teacher itself so you can know how to handle the tricks of the teacher in whatever capacity.
The world today is going through toughest challenges on every side and this l believe is a great opportunity for sensitive individuals to boost their strength and show forth the glory inside by bringing down the force of the past and the fear of the unknown.
Importantly, the secret is whatever we go through at any point in life may be fears, past failures, mistakes, depression, frustration and oppression all of these exist as CHOICE. Your fear is a choice and your past is a choice and it only exists in the MIND. You can choose to accept it or not. What you believe is what you choose and whatever choice you make, you will have to live by it,
HOW TO CONQUER THE PAST
- Delete the past from your mind. Past hold down the future and everything becomes stagnant.
- Renew the concept and thoughts of your mind
- Never give up your vision, passion, purpose and potentials.
- Change your Association. Friendship comes by choice not by force.
- Dream big but start small. Nothing becomes big until it starts small.
