In this era, the level of our Education in Africa is not focusing on major areas of need and we are still being held back by putting so much priority on politics just because of greediness for money and what we can get. By concept, Schooling and Education differ by all means. The school could be systematic or not and it is usually an environment where learning could take place with rightful quality facilities that could aid learning productively and effectively.
Education is the essence of schooling but in this part of the world especially in Nigeria, most of us have been fooled that Schooling and Education are the same but they are not. Education is a lifelong activity that cuts across every area of life right from childhood to adulthood. It is a learning activity that exposes a child into shaping his mind towards his abilities and the opportunities needed to use the ability with or without formal schooling.
However, it is time for us to abolish Roman and British Curriculum Education after several decades of slavery ideologies in our activities. The Educational system they gave us is no longer productive for us in Africa. It was only effective because they wanted to enslave our forefathers. Now we don’t need it because where we are because of their system that had fooled us for so long right in our mentality. African countries should rethink and channel their Schooling and Education projects on practical areas that are patterned after the personalities and potentials of the real African people. Not the one that had been brainwashed by Romans, British or United States and the rest.
African nations know themselves that it is only because of slavery that had entered their systems and mentality and control their philosophy in terms of structure and system of approach, that is why there is no valuable progress. Now, most African leaders are even tired because they do not know themselves any more not even the needs of their people.
The following areas should be the projected areas where African nations should focus on practically with a projection of redesigned curriculum of Education that fits the African nations.
#Curriculum of Education on discovery of a child. None of our subjects focuses on this for over 4000 decades. Most of us grow up as a child without any proper knowledge of ourselves only what they told us either by our parents or relatives and worst still, ones who are ignorant about who we are in the society. Our curriculum should be projected after every child discovering after their identity or personality, purpose, passion and potentials. This will help them each to develop as they grow up knowing who they are and identify what they could be and solution they could bring to the society.
#Curriculum of Education of a child’s Potentials or areas of major abilities. Every child came with certain and special abilities to meet certain needs once it is needed. . Every child comes with a lot of potentials and right from their homes, they develop a pattern, ideology, philosophy and habits for their potentials. It is sad to know that most of what every child is mentally exposed to are negativities, crimes and misconducts. This turns out to have a lot of offensive side effects on their precious potentials. This is one of the reasons why an average child that is exposed wrongly will go on the street begging for money when there is no food to eat. This is a dysfunctional system for reward without any work. Such child with potentials could grow up to become an armed robber.
#Curriculum of Education that channels a child into either Entrepreneurship, Vocational or Academic areas within their potentials or gifted areas.
#Curriculum of Education on Finance and Management of money. The slavery and ideologies of the Romans and British Education had led African countries through government and families to think it is job or employment that will make them better. For instance, Nigeria today is experiencing deep poor economic management as a result of the governments’ ideologies on politics and employment schemes that end up in stealing of money and lie that Monkey or snakes swallowed the money.
#Curriculum on Education on Health and Mental status. Not every child will be a doctor. There are gifted doctors beyond certificates or Harvard Certificate. Nigeria has many experts in medicine but brain drain had sold them into foreign countries. Imagine. How a nation like ours can has several Medical experts and right in your country, a nation like Dubai is employing them in your own country? It shows how foolish the government could be and no regards for their own products.
#Curriculum of Education on Digital technology. Indians are really dominating this back and front. They have dominated the tech industry that you have to go and learn from them. African countries are still fighting themselves in politics and greediness for money, misplacement of priority. If we train the children to learn every dimensions of digital tech in schools will their brothers go into Yahoo -Yahoo or any other cyber- crimes? Even some of our politicians are also doing the Yahoo Yahoo, they have not just been identified.
#Curriculum of Education on Civil rights, Societal Management and Leadership skills. This is why we lack reasonable love because no proper schooling and right Education for societal growth because our leaders do not have right sense of leadership skills that they have gone through process before they take a position to lead and govern effectively and reproductively.
#Curriculum of Education on Agriculture. We have most of the natural resources and I believe God shared it well but we are just wasting resources by selling it to the foreign countries because we don’t value what we have. We are sending our resources abroad and paying highly for it when we can channel it right here. Agricultural Development should not be tribalistic in terms of production and this is what we have done. Africa wake, up, wake up before the present and next generation wake up and rain curses on you.
Africa wake up, we have lost our great values to greediness and lack of right sense Leadership and emotional sentiments.
